Renaud Camus

Renaud Camus is a writer and a political activist, especially known because of his popularisation in the early 2010’s of the “Great Replacement theory” (the alleged replacement of the white European population by a non-white and Muslim population, through mass immigration), which he revived from the depth of far-right thought through publishing a book on the topic. In 2002, he created a political party “L’in-nocence”, but joins the SIEL in 2015. He is a candidate to both the 2014 and 2019 EU elections. In 2014 is he convicted for incitement to hatred and discrimination against Muslims, but is still well-known for his strongly xenophobic, anti-immigration and islamophobic positions, feeding identitarian discourses.
