Nicolas Bay is a politician who initially joined Jean-Marie Le Pen’s Front National (FN) in the 1990’s, before splitting with Mégret’s MNR in 1998, and coming back to the FN in 2009. He is a high executive of the Rassemblement National (RN) who occupied several positions from spokesperson to regional elected representative, member of the national board of the party, and EU MP since 2014. Until February 16th 2022, he was even the vice-president of the Identity and Democracy group at the EU parliament. He has been known as belonging to the identitarian wing of the party, and on February 18th 2022 he rallied Eric Zemmour’s campaign instead, after accusations of disclosing crucial information to competing party. He is currently one of the vice-presidents of Reconquête! and left the Identity and Democracy group at the EU parliament.
