Kostadinov is one of the rare examples, at least in Bulgaria, of well-educated far-right actor. He studied for a lawyer, historian and ethnologist. Back in 1997 Kostadinov join the lists of *IMRO – Bulgarian National Movement* and became their coordinator for Varna, Shumen and Dobrich provinces from 2002 till 2009 and from 2007 through 2012 he was member of the National Executive Committee of IMRO. In 2013 he was disappointed by the re-election of IMRO’s leader, Krasimir Karakachanov and left, joining the ranks the NFSB party (National Front for a Salvation of Bulgaria). Later that year he left NSFB as well, as a result of the newly build partnership (which in the end lead to coalition) between them and IMRO. In 2014 Kostadinov’s launched a new party by the name of *Vazrazhdane* (Revival).

After the far-right electorate’s disillusionment with the “United Patriot” (NFSB, IMRO and ATTACK coalition) and its members (from 2018 till present), Vazrazhdane begin to gain visibility and to grow quite rapidly, at least among the major cities in Bulgaria (Sofia, Varna, Bourgas & Plovdiv). As an activist party, it would not be an exaggeration to say that currently they are one of the most vigorous far-right movement in the country. Every protest and strike in urban cities help them recruit new members. They are, quite literally, everywhere – well organised and suspiciously well-funded.

Back in 2020 we’ve expected that during the upcoming elections in 2021 we might witness their rise in the country’s parliamentary life. However, for now it looks as if Vazrazhdane will not be able to get seats in the parliament even in these 3rd-for-the year parliamentary elections. Let this not reassure us. Their continued presence on the streets and during any justified or unjustified discontent is worrying enough.
