The Pie & Mash Squad were a split from the EDL, originally called Casuals United and led by football hooligan Joe Butler, also known as Joe Marsh. There have been a few occasions where [the Pie & Mash Squad have attacked women and children](https://www.vice.com/en/article/4wm3jb/is-english-far-right-hooligans-war-on-left-wing-football-ultras-spreading-to-the-premier-league-181). Butler is now the Welsh regional organiser for PA and the Pie & Mash Squad backed the call to avoid the June 2020 ‘statue defenders’ protest in London. Butler does not seem to have been able to take all the people he could mobilise in the past with him into PA, although this could change.
