Freilich Magazin

Freilich Magazin is, since 2018, the successor of Die Aula, the former central organ of the German nationalist fraternities. Die Aula was a clear opponent of the Prohibition Act and described the Holocaust as a ‘historical image decreed by law’ (No. 3/2009, p. 26). Freilich Media GmbH is owned by the FPÖ apron organization Freiheitlichen Akademikerverband (FAV) Styria, Salzburg and Upper Austria. It also used to own the now discontinued online portals Tagesstimme and Linke-Gewalt.info. The magazine is managed by former Graz local councillor Heinrich Sickl (FPÖ), who was also involved in the fascist group Nationalist Front and the IBÖ in the past.
