Konstantin Krylov

Konstantin Anatolyevich Krylov (1967–2020) was one of the most famous Russian nationalists writers. Krylov’s political career peaked during the 2012 protests. At that time, he was elected to the coordination council of the Russian opposition from the nationalists. This was preceded by the creation of the National Democratic Party of Russia (NDP) in the same year.
As Krylov himself explained, the organisers of the movement, sharing democratic values and striving for “the restoration of democracy in Russia”, wanted to create a classic European national-democratic party.
The nationalists promised to fight corruption, defend the interests of Russians abroad, and insist on the redistribution of powers between the federal centre and the regions. The NDP programme also spoke of constitutional reform, which would weaken the power of the president and the government’s responsibility to parliament.
The NDP never achieved political subjectivity. In 2014, the Ministry of Justice rejected the party’s request for official registration.
