Neither the European People’s Party nor its group in the EP belong to the far right. But since, once in a while, it hosted MEPs who departed from or defected to the one or other far right party, it seemed necessary to include the EPP. Presently (2019/2020) this dissoluting demarcation to the far right can be seen most prominently in the non-decisive behaviour towards the hungarian Fidesz: suspended from the party, but still part of the parliamentary group.
