Markus Frntic

In a 2015 article, the daily Stuttgarter Nachrichten writes that Markus Frntic was first spotted by German intelligence in 1996, as the leader of the Stuttgart branch of the racist Ku-Klux-Klan. Investigative journalists Franz Feyder and Sven Ullenbruch described Frntica as a key neo-Nazi figure in southwestern Germany, where he also built a branch of the Blood & Honor network.

How strongly he identifies with the ideology of the group can be read on his stomach, where he has the tattoos ‘Blood & Honor’ and ‘Adolf Hitler’ tattooed in capital letters. He gained respect on the scene: excellent contacts in the circles of fascists and criminals in Croatia. The registration number of his vehicle is 1488, with 14 denoting the slogan of the American racist terrorist David Lan, and 88 being the code for “Heil Hitler”.

Shortly before the ban on Blood & Honor in 2000, Frntic founded the organization “Furchtlos und Treu” (“Fearless and Faithful”), which, among other things, held commemorations for the SS units. In 2003, police came into possession of photos of Frntic and other neo-Nazis posing with weapons. A search of their apartments turned up explosives and 2,500 bullets, but in Frntic’s apartment in the municipality of Kirchheim am Neckar, police found only a plastic rifle and a punctured rifle barrel.

Members of the ‘Fearless and Faithful’ group show off with pistols and rifles. The comrades travel with Frntic to Austria to meet with Croatian fascists. They wear T-shirts with the words ‘German-Croatian Brothers in Arms’,. The Austrian website no-ustasa.at states that Frntic visited the Bleiburg commemoration in 2012. Frntic has been moving in German neo-Nazi circles for decades and is significant enough to be mentioned in several articles and books, and in 2018 he was questioned before an investigative committee on the NSU of the Baden-Württemberg parliament. The chairman of the commission described Frntic’s apartment as a “private museum of the Third Reich”.
